Stewart Park Festival lost one of its strongest supporters when Wendy Laut, long-time owner of Shadowfax and Deputy Mayor of Perth, passed away in February of this year.

One of the Stewart Park Festival's co-founders, Wendy assumed a variety of roles in a volunteer capacity with the festival over the years. Many performers of festivals past will no doubt remember her fondly for her hospitality and generosity as she provided lodging and meals to travel weary musicians from near and far on countless occasions. Her residence was a "home away from home" and a gathering place for lots of friends.

Few will miss her more that the numerous volunteers who make this event run, rain or shine, year after year. We saw Wendy as a constant force in the forefront of stage activity or as a tireless organizer behind the scenes. Wendy's legacy will live on in the music and the friendly atmosphere that makes our festival so endearing to many people.

So long and happy trails until we meet again to a great mother, friend, confidante, music lover and booster. We'll see you around here and there groovin' to the tunes under the shade tree, by the stream or sittin' in on stage.

Love, Peace out
From your festival friends
one and all
